FileCloud supports provisioning additional admin accounts that can access and manage the FileCloud admin dashboard. The following terms used in this document have specific meaning:-
Master Admin. The Admin account that is created when the FileCloud is installed. There is only one Master Admin account in FileCloud.
Admin. User accounts that access FileCloud admin interface. Admin User accounts can only be created and managed by Master Admin.
Operation. Refers to action that an admin account can perform within a FileCloud admin interface. For example User Management, RMC Management, Group Management etc.
Create an Admin Account
In order to create or manage an admin account, you must login as a Master admin. The master admin is the account that was originally created to access the FileCloud admin interface when the FileCloud is installed. When the FileCloud Admin system is accessed with master admin account, there is an Admin link on the left menu that must be used to manage the admin accounts.
You can promote any existing FileCloud User to be an Admin. The admin account can be created either at the user detail section or directly at the admin section as displayed in the screenshot below.
Once Admin permission is given to a user, Specific permissions must be assigned for that user by following the instructions in the following section. If no permissions are given, then only the dashboard will be shown when the user with admin permission logs into Admin portal.
FileCloud admin interface has identified the following operations separated along the lines of functional areas within the FileCloud admin interface. Each of the below operation refers to a specific functional area that is easily identified through the left menu on the FileCloud Admin interface.
|Users||Users menu item on the admin interface will be visible. Authorization to View, Create, Modify and Delete Users. Import New Users. Reset Password for Users.|
|Groups||Groups menu item on the admin interface will be visible. Authorization to View, Create, Modify and Delete Groups. Manage Group Members. Import Group Members from Active Directory.|
|Network Share||Network Folders item on the admin interface will be visible. Authorization to View, Create, Modify and Delete Network Folders. Manager User and Group Access to Network Folders.|
|User Share||User Shares item on the admin interface will be visible. Authorization to View, Modify and Delete User Shares.|
|Device Management||Devices item on the admin interface will be visible. Authorization to View, Remove and Manage Devices.|
|Audit||Audit item on the admin interface will be visible. Authorization to View, Delete and Export Audit Records.|
|Settings||Settings item on the admin interface will be visible. Authorization to View and Modify FileCloud Settings.|
|Customization||Customization item on the admin interface will be visible. Authorization to Customize FileCloud interface.|
|System||System item on the admin interface will be visible. Authorization to run system checks, install check, generate logs and UPGRADE FileCloud to new version.|
|Alert||Alert item on the admin interface will be visible. Authorization to View and Clear Alerts in admin interface.|
|Files||Manage Files User detail - Manager User will be visible. Authorization to View and Download User Files.|
|Encryption||Manage Encryption at Rest settings.|
|Workflow||Add, edit and delete workflows on FileCloud|
|Locks||Manage Locks on Files and Folders in FileCloud|
|Folder Permissions||Manage Folder Level Permissions. Authorization to View and Manage Folder Permissions|
|Report||Add, Execute, edit and delete Reports|
|Team Folders||Set up Team Folders, Add, edit, delete and manage team folder and corresponding permissions.|
|Rich Dashboard||View Rich dashboard view including tables and graphs on the admin UI dashboard.|
|Federated Search||Support to perform federated search through the admin interface|
|Metadata||Add, update and manage metadata set definition, attributes and permissions.|
Master admins can select the admin user account through the drop down as displayed in the screenshot below and use the check box for each operation under the admin management screen to authorize access to specific operation for an admin user account.
When an admin user logs into the admin system the admin user can access only the functional areas that has been authorized by the master admin.
Admin users can login into admin portal using either their username or email id.
