Sharing Files Publicly in Sync
You can share a file so that anyone can access the file even if they don't have a FileCloud account.
- If you want more security but still want a large number of people to access the file, you can enable password protection.
- For additional security, and if you only want a small number of people to access the file, you can choose to share the file privately.
When you share a file:
- A Share link window opens to provide the linkBy default the file can be accessed by external users.
- You can click Change or Share options to set sharing restrictions.
- You can edit and send an email inviting new or existing users to access the share.
Create a public share:
In your system tray, right-click the Sync icon and choose Open.
- At the bottom of the mini-dashboard, click the folder icon.
Your Sync folder in file explorer opens. - Navigate to the file or folder you want to share, then right-click on it and choose Show More Options. In the next menu choose FileCloud Sync > Share Link.
The Share link dialog box opens. Unless you click the Change or Share options button and change the settings, the file is shared publicly. - Click the Copy Link button, and then paste the link in an email or text message and send it to users to give them access to the file.
Create a public share and add share options
- In your system tray, right-click the Sync icon and choose Open.
- At the bottom of the mini-dashboard, click the folder icon.
Your Sync folder in file explorer opens. - Navigate to the file or folder you want to share, then right-click on it and choose Show More Options. In the next menu choose FileCloud Sync > Share Link.
The Share link dialog box opens. - Click Change or Share options.
The window expands and shows share options. - Change any of the options. See Sync: Share options for files for information about these settings.
- Click OK.
