Beginning with version 20.2, FileCloud supports integration with McAfee CASB.

To enable you to take advantage of benefits of an external DLP product, FileCloud interfaces with McAfee CASB.

FileCloud's API includes endpoints that enable you to use McAfee CASB to monitor user events in FileCloud including uploading, updating, and downloading files, sharing files or folders publicly, and logging in.

For example, when an item is shared in FileCloud, McAfee CASB can monitor the content of the item and review its policy (FC DLP rules?)

and apply DLP policies for shared links and items, uploaded or updated files, and email notifications.

McAfee CASB integration enables your system to:

  • apply content/metadata-based DLP policies to monitor sensitive documents.
  • apply shared link policies to detect anonymous public links
  • automatically delete sensitive documents
  • automatically remove shared links

To enable McAfee CASB:

  1. Open the configuration file:
    Windows: XAMPP DIRECTORY/htdocs/config/cloudconfig.php
    Linux: /var/www/config/cloudconfig.php
  2. Add the lines:

    define("TONIDOCLOUD_CASB_ENABLE", true);
    define("TONIDOCLOUD_REMOTE_CASB_AUTHKEY", "7cCtfh8IsnOyJQpWJG6XYjiMZhCEdrnC");

    For better security, change TONIDOCLOUD_REMOTE_CASB_AUTHKEY to any alphanumeric string.

FileCloud includes APIs that send McAfee information through when a user does the following:

  • adds a file
  • updates a file
  • adds an external file
  • downloads a file
  • logs in successfully
  • creates a share
  • deletes a share
  • deletes an account

For more information about using these APIs, see the API documentation at xxxxx (or does each action get a separate link?)
