AVI (Audio Video Interleaved ), is a multimedia container format introduced by Microsoft as part of its Video for Windows technology. AVI files can contain both audio and video data in a file container that allows synchronous audio-with-video playback. Apple iOS doesn't support .avi video files natively. One need to convert the .avi files to Apple compatible formats like mp4 and mpeg before playing it in the iPhone and iPad
