Tonido's reason for existence as a product is to preserve privacy and user control of data.
What information is stored about you?
The Tonido Domain Server which is a distributed login service, stores only the following information.
- Your Tonido profile name
- Authorization Token that is connected to that profile
- Your IP address to answer DNS queries related to your custom URL, to help other Tonido peers to locate you
- Your email address provided during registration
Please note that the rest of your profile data (including passwords) are not transmitted to us. Make sure you have a valid email address associated with your account, otherwise if you forget your password it is not possible to recover it.
Tonido-to-Tonido (Tonido Network) connections are always direct and encrypted so that only the communicating peers can decrypt the information.
Tonido applications run locally and store their data locally in your hard drive.
