Quality Assurance Engineer – Job ID: QAE2

CodeLathe (a US based company), is looking for a passionate QA Engineer to help do manual and automated testing of our software products. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and interested in figuring out how things work and then trying to come up with creative ways to see if it can be broken. This is a remote-job position and will require working remotely with other team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Test CodeLathe’s products (FileCloud, Tonido) before release
  • Perform manual testing
  • Develop automated unit and system test cases
  • Reproduce reported customer problems to help developers troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues
  • Add and improve technical documentation.
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Engineering degree with 2 or more years of professional software testing experience is required
  • Experience in testing frameworks and automated testing tools  is a plus
  • Ability to work with development team in US timezone
  • Ability to write automated test scripts
  • Experience with PHP and PHPUnit framework is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self starter, highly motivated and works with little or no supervision
  • Strong problem solving skills; takes ownership and pride in their job

Full Stack Software Engineer – Job ID: FSE4

CodeLathe (an Austin, TX, USA based company), is looking for passionate full stack software engineers to develop and expand our FileCloud product line. As a software engineer, you will be primarily responsible for development of server-side functionality as well as building scalable cloud based services. This is a 100% remote position and will require working remotely with other team members.

Responsibilities

  • Create elegant, efficient and maintainable software to support and extend our current software products
  • Solve complex architectural challenges when implementing new features
  • Integrate with databases, file systems, cloud services when delivering solutions
  • Troubleshoot and fix reported customer issues, delivering software patches as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or in related discipline with 4 or more years of professional software engineering experience, at least 3 years experience in web app development
  • Strong knowledge of web technologies including HTTP protocol, XML, REST is required
  • Strong knowledge of Object Oriented programming, design patterns etc is required
  • Strong knowledge of client server architecture is required
  • 3+ years in PHP development is required
  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases like MongoDB and their declarative query languages is a plus
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 is a plus
  • Self starter, highly motivated and works with little or no supervision
  • Passionate in software development, takes ownership and pride in their job

As a front end software engineer, you will be primarily responsible for development of cross browser web application functionality. This is a 100% remote position and will require working remotely with other team members.

  • Create elegant web user interfaces and layouts
  • Own the user experience
  • Integrate the front-end with databases, file systems, cloud services via HTTP APIs when delivering solutions
  • Troubleshoot and fix reported customer issues, delivering software patches as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or in related discipline with 4 or more years of professional software engineering experience
  • 3+ years experience in front-end web app development is required
  • Experience using Google Web Toolkit (GWT) and Java is required
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript, JQuery, CSS and HTML is required
  • Strong knowledge of Web Technologies including HTTP protocol, XML, JSON, REST is required
  • Strong knowledge of client server architecture is required
