SE – Sofware Engineer

CodeLathe, (an Austin, TX USA based company) is looking for software engineers to develop and expand our FileCloud and Tonido products. As a software engineer, you will be primarily responsible for development of server-side functionality, client applications as well as building scalable cloud based services.

Responsibilities

  • Create elegant, efficient and maintainable software to support and extend our current software products
  • Solve complex architectural challenges when implementing new features
  • Integrate with databases, file systems, cloud services when delivering solutions
  • Troubleshoot and fix reported customer issues, delivering software patches as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Engineering degree
  • Strongly detail oriented and motivated to get things done
  • Strong knowledge of Web Technologies including HTTP protocol, XML, REST is required
  • Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Programming, Design Patterns etc is required
  • Strong knowledge of client server architecture is required
  • Knowledge of PHP is a plus
  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases like MongoDB and their declarative query languages is a plus
  • Familiarity with versioning tools like Subversion
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3

TSE – Technical Support and Solutions Engineer

CodeLathe, (an Austin, TX USA based company) is looking for a remote technical support/solutions engineer to provide technical and deployment assistance for our customer base around the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer technical questions about software installation, deployment and usage scenarios
  • Assist customers with installation and configuration of CodeLathe software
  • Work directly with customers to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve technical issues with CodeLathe’s software
  • Assist Engineering teams by escalating, reproducing customer issues until a solution is reached
  • Add and improve technical documentation
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Engineering degree
  • Entry level and experienced candidates are welcome
  • Ability to work in USA and Europe time zones
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server OS Administration and Troubleshooting including Active Directory is a plus
  • Experience with Linux Administration and Troubleshooting is a plus
  • Experience in Technical support is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

OE – Operations Engineer

CodeLathe (an Austin, TX USA based company) is looking for a cloud operations engineer to manage and maintain our cloud infrastructure. As an Operations engineer, you will be primarily responsible for keeping all our servers highly available, patched and secure. You will also help create the server infrastructure that powers and scales our next generation software-as-a-service.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Cloud servers running on various data centers around the globe
  • Create a cost-efficient and scalable Cloud SAAS platform for our various products
  • Provide 24/7 monitoring and response via rotational on-call support to ensure high uptimes for all critical services
  • Troubleshoot reported server outages and ensure solutions to minimize downtime in the future
  • Ensure all services are fully patched and secure against new and existing exploits
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Engineering degree
  • Strongly detail oriented and motivated to get things done
  • Strong knowledge of Linux server administration and TCP/IP LAN/WAN networking
  • Strong knowledge of Apache WebServer, MongoDB, MySQL configuration
  • Strong knowledge of Amazon AWS Cloud infrastructure, Microsoft Azure Cloud infrastructure
  • Experience managing multi-tier application architecture
  • Experience with firewalls, load balancers, proxy servers
  • Experience with server security hardening
  • Experience with monitoring systems like Nagios, Zabbix
  • Experience with server configuration systems like Ansible
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like PHP, Python
